International Examiners may supplement this with additional
techniques to further test your skills. However the necessary skill siught after
by KWF Hombu is the usage of the rotational action of the hips combined, with the stretch and drive of the
rear leg into stances.
You must be able to work the torso/hips/legs as a
unit and be able to thrust or launch into techniques as opposed to pulling and
working the rear leg/hip/ action as separate entities. There must be a marked
progression from Nidan in this area, with smooth transmission between
techniques.
Kihon
1. From
Free-style kamae kizami-zuki → sanbon-zuki. 2. From Free-style kamae
kizami-zuki → mae-geri → oizuki. 3. From Free-style kamae step back age-uke
→ mawashi-geri (with back leg) → uraken → oizuki. 4. From Kiba-dachi and
move sideways kicking yoko-geri-keage → yoko-geri-kekomi (changing legs). 5.
From zenkutsu-dachi while staying in place with the back leg kick mae-geri →
yoko-geri → ushiro-geri. (Left and right)
Kumite
Jiyu-kumite (free-style sparring)
At least two 'bouts'
Kata
Tokui-gata (Can not be a Shitei/Sentei-gata) Shitei-gata
(sentei-gata) one kata chosen freely by the examinee from Jion, Bassai-dai,
Empi, and Kanku-dai.
